What can property maintenance companies do?

The Silent Gardener’s motto: “Landscapers should be seen, not heard” should become the norm among landscapers. It is possible, and many landscapers have shown that lawns and gardens are still being maintained now without the penetrating noise of machines.

Another obstacle is the home owner’s expectation of pristinely kept lawns and gardens without a single leaf in the wrong place, almost trying to simulate the cleanliness inside a house. This is unrealistic. The next gust of wind will change this picture.

Ironically, leaf blowers were not invented to blow leaves; they were originally designed as crop dusters. In other words, they didn’t come about in response to a genuine need for a mechanized solution to the leaf-removal problem.  Because there wasn’t any problem. Now we DO have a problem: loads of EXTRA pollution and UNNECESSARY DEAFENING NOISE throughout our residential areas, during the three seasons when we all want to enjoy our outdoors!
